Delete your Pompon account

1. In the app (the quickest way)

1. Open the Me tab.
2. Tap Settings.
3. Tap Delete my account.
4. Read the message, then tap Delete my account to confirm.

You need an internet connection. When it is done, the app tells you “Your account is deleted” and starts again as on the first launch. If the app cannot delete the account, it changes nothing. Try again later.

2. By email, if you cannot open the app

Write to [email protected] with the subject “Pompon account deletion”. Your account is anonymous and the app does not show its number, so we find it through your purchase. Please give:

• the date of your purchase or of your free trial,
• the store you used (Google Play or App Store),
• if you have it, the order number on the receipt sent by Google or Apple.

If you never bought anything, say so and give your phone model and the approximate date you first opened the app. We will do our best, but without a purchase we cannot always find your account. We may ask you for proof that the account is yours, for example a screenshot of the receipt. If you do not want a copy of your chats with Pompon to be kept with no identifier (section 4), say so in your email. We delete your account and reply within 30 days at most.

3. What is erased

Everything linked to your account, for good:

• your projects, your finished rows and your photos of finished pieces,
• your saved, created or imported patterns, and the files of your imports,
• your photos and the text linked to your pattern requests,
• your shared posts and their media,
• your comments, and the free text of your feedback,
• your messages and photos in the chat,
• your subscription status and your usage counters,
• the anonymous account itself.

From the app, erasure is immediate. By email, it is done within 30 days.

4. What is kept

Nothing that can be traced back to you. Only the following remains, with no link to you:

• the numerical answers to end-of-project feedback and the reasons for leaving,
• reports of errors in patterns and in chat answers (their text is about the pattern or about Pompon's answer),
• technical logs (duration, cost, version of the instructions), without your identifier,
• a copy of your chats with Pompon: the text of your questions and of its answers, with the context from the guide (pattern, part, row). Never your photos. Email addresses, phone numbers and links are removed from it automatically. It is used to improve and train an AI that gives better answers about crochet.

This copy is made just before erasure. It is not attached to any account: once your account is deleted, we cannot find it to delete it. It is not made if you turned off “Help Pompon answer better” in Me, Settings. If you do not want it to exist, turn that setting off before you delete your account. Anything already copied before you turned it off is kept.

Your customer record at RevenueCat, which tracks subscriptions for us (anonymous account number and purchases), is erased at the same time. Google and Apple sales statements are kept for ten years, as French law requires, with no link to your Pompon account.

5. Your subscription

Deleting your account does not stop your subscription, and neither does uninstalling the app. To stop paying, cancel in the store: Google Play, Payments & subscriptions, Subscriptions; or App Store, your account, Subscriptions.

6. If you do nothing

An account whose subscription ended more than two years ago is erased automatically. An anonymous account that never had a subscription is erased after 12 months with no activity at all. The details are in the privacy policy.
